Let it be known! A complete session on juggling is necessary for all soccer drills to be absolute in every sense. It is essential that each soccer player gets trained on this basic skill of the game. Both senior players and beginners get to benefit from this activity. Players tend to juggle the ball by using their head, feet, and thighs in related soccer exercises.
The players get to study the close ball skills and the way to control the ball with the help of juggling. They tend to develop a good judgment of control and maneuvering of the ball in the midst of an opposition attack. Lastly, they build up a lot of confidence by way of juggling that allows them to settle down with the ball (the main characteristic necessary for a successful attack).
During soccer practice, players can juggle individually and develop their own styles. A handful of following tips will be of some use to you being the coach.
While juggling with the foot, the players should be taught to use the top of their foot or the laces. The legs should be comfortable and the foot must be contracted as soon as it touches the ball. Guide them to clasp the arms out a bit so as to maintain balance.
When players juggle with their thighs, coach them to bring their knee up for the upper leg to stay horizontal. Help them identify the fact that ball needs to come into contact with the top of the thigh. It is important that they keep the body bent backwards slightly and keep the arms out so as to maintain balance.
Juggling using the head is the most difficult for the kids. But during the soccer drills, it is important for them to practice it. It needs the players to judge the correct angle to bring the forehead in contact with the ball. They should hold the head sufficiently higher so that the eyes face the sky. The legs should be bowed a little and straightened up a little every time a contact with the ball is made.
In addition to these techniques of soccer training, encourage the players to use their shoulders, outside of the heels, and the back of the neck as well. It becomes necessary to bring these contact points into use under certain special circumstances. The young players should enjoy feeling the ball on their laces because this is the area that they will use the most to shoot the ball.
To end, it is crucial that factors of rhythm and balance are emphasized. These help in juggling and therefore must be learnt. Coach the players to relax and foresee the movement of the ball. With practice, they will be able to do it and perfect the art of juggling.
